December 9th 2014 Windows Updates

Today, as part of Update Tuesday, we released seven security updates – three rated Critical and four rated Important in severity, to address 24 unique Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVEs) in Microsoft Windows, Internet Explorer (IE), Office and Exchange.

We encourage you to apply all of these updates. For more information about this month’s security updates, including the detailed view of the Exploit Index (XI) broken down by each CVE, visit the Microsoft Bulletin Summary webpage. If you are not familiar with how we calculate XI, a full description can be found here.

I got 2 optional updates today.KB3013816 and KB3113767. When I clicked on more info , all I got was OOOPS! Were sorry the page you requested is not available. Anyone know what they are suppose to be for?

I know, it really bugs me! Microsoft know the date and time updates are going to be released as it's the same every single month, but yet seem incapable of releasing the documentation at the same time. Dear Microsoft, please release the info the same time you release the updates, so we don't just get this when we click to see what's being updated: :mad:

Store apps are even worse, as most of the time we don't even know what's been changed.

Bit the bullet and installed those 2 optional updates (60 MB), no problems with them either.

I couldn't find any info on those 2 updates that I mentioned on those links.

The two optional ones just supersede others, as I mentioned in my post.

Yes. I see now where they supersede another update., But I still can't find out what they or the superseded ones do. Thanks anyway.

It bugged me too, they apparently changed place for update info but didn't make a link to it. Anyway, googling every KB found them. Installed all of them and everything's fine.

Looks like MS has posted the KB articles for all the updates. I was asked for a Survey and complained about the lack of posting the KB articles before the updates go live. From now on when I get those offers for a Survey I will repeat this complaint. They probably won't listen since I would think that most users have their system set to Auto Update. Guess I should just wait a day or two before updating but I can't stand waiting. :p
