reinstalled logitech mouse, rebooted, did not work, so uninstalled and did fresh install, rebooted, still not closing down. I might take the M500 drivers out and use it in default mouse.

I had a similar issue with setpoint a while back. I think it was with windows 7 though. It would hang on shutdown with the waiting for this program to close, but the list was blank. I went back to an older version of setpoint and the hang on shut down went away.

Does the Logitech mouse require a driver or will the default drive in Windows work? If so, try uninstalling the Logitech driver.

My currently installed version shows Control Center version 6.65.62, Driver version 5.80.4. No issues in Windows 8.1 Pro x64. Something else that has given me issues in the past is the smooth scroll plug-in in setpoint. It's in manage Add-ons in IE. I currently have it disabled. I can't remember if it caused shut down issues or I just didn't like the way it worked.

yeah. it depends on what extra features your device has as to whether you need setpoint or not. I could get by without it. My trackball only has a couple of extra forward back buttons that still work without setpoint. My keyboard is fine too, all I lose is the blue Mode keys that I don't use anyway. all the media keys work without setpoint. My T650 touchpad on the other hand is almost useless without setpoint. All I can do is move the cursor. It doesn't have any physical click buttons on it, only the touch surface. Double taping does nothing either without setpoint installed.

It was a while ago that I had the issue and can't remember exactly what was what. On the plus side, I did a firmware update on my T650 and can click and scroll without having to install setpoint. The gestures work out of the box now with no need for extra software.
