How do I fix Corrupted Microsoft .Net Files on windows 8.1

HI,

Recently I have upgraded my windows 8 into windows 8.1.Once upon a time I had messed up with .net frameworks & deleted all of it's folders while fixing something.Then I have re-installed .net framework 4.5.2 version.But I am facing some problems now.

Issues:

1) Following .exe files are not opening in my laptop

- Both AMD & Intel graphics driver software is not opening
- Razer Gamebooster & handbrake tool is not opening

2) Eventviewer is not working which displays some errors after opening it

3) I could not able to install some .exe files which does not display any errors


Note: I could not able to install .net version 4 . While installing it displays 'Same version or higher version has been already installed'
How do I fix this problem? Why some .exe files are not opening & installing in my PC?

Directx 11
.Net framework 4.5.2
Windows 8.1 Single Language

OS: Windows 8.1 Single Language Edition

I have solved this problem after one month & Found a solution myself.I have realized that .Net files are corrupted. I re-installed everything & tried SFC Scan, DISM Methods but none of them worked.And also I could not Proceed 'Refresh my PC' after upgrading from windows 8 to windows 8.1

Steps I followed to Resolve this Problem

You can find .Net Installation Folders here.

C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft.NET


Before Proceeding I have taken backup of .Net Folders Which I mentioned above.To resolve this issue I have deleted those .Net files after entering into SafeMode

1) I have installed 'Windows 8.1 Single Language Edition' Virtually in my VMware Workstation by using ISO
2) After installing that, I have Copied .Net Installation Folders from that Virtual Machine OS in VMware
3) Then I have Pasted that .Net Folders from my Virtual machine to my Host Machine(Original OS) at this following path
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft.NET
4) Now Everything is Working fine

I have several versions of the net framework---



All I know to do is try these commands in an administrator command prompt.
You can let them run in the background.
Other than that, restoring or reinstalling your OS are options to consider.
Or wait for other responses with better options.

CMDs to run---

Dism.exe /online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup
sfc /scannow
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
sfc /scannow

In that order.
Then reboot.

Did you uninstall .NET or just "deleted" them as you wrote. You should never delete program folders until the program is uninstalled. Your system probably sees the registry settings and .dll(dynamic link libraries) that point to nowhere now. Go to this thread to post #2 and follow Davids' instructions using an elevated command prompt.

David Bailey : Hey actually I am also having latest .net version.I dont know why some .exe files are not working. I feel that re-installing OS is not a good idea. Recently I have upgraded my windows 8 to windows 8.1.I took more than 2 days to upgrading process.So I might loose win 8.1.You can check screenshot of .net .And also eventviewer is not working in my PC

Cliff S :I actually dont know how to uninstall .net versions.So I have deleted some of .net framework folders from this path 'C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET'. After that I have re-installed latest versions of .net framework.You can check above screenshots for POC. I want to figure out why my eventmanager & also some .exe is not working in my PC?

Follow Davids' instructions(David it looks like you were faster posting than I was, I sent him to where you had helped some one else) and that should repair your mmc snap-ins at least. This can happen when dll's get corrupted or when using a theme patcher for shell themes.

Are You talking about this CMD's? Will it fix my problems?

Yeah !! I had been messed up more than one week to find a solution for this. I couldn't. So I decided to register a new account in eightforums & created this thread. I hope that this forum members will give solution for this problem.

P.S: Worst Part is, I have downloaded 20GB game (Dragon Age-Inquisition) which I could not able to install it's setup due to this problem

You do not delete or uninstall .net frameworks.
You remove the checks to turn them off.
Keep the checks to turn them on.

If you deleted anything, you messed up.

Yeah !! I should not deleted that .net folders But ! It's too late now. I should have re-install .net framework 4.5.2 again.Can you tell any procedure to re-install or uninstall .Net frameworks in windows 8.1?

Yup. right click the :winkey: icon choose Command Prompt(Admin) then type( or better yet cut and paste each line) without the number let each one run through(the Dism command can take a long time):

Yeah !! I have scanned using CMD 'sfc /scannow' which displayed some errors with logs.I dont know what to do next.And also I have already tried that .Net repair tool.It didn't resolve my issue.

Does this procedure cause my system unstable if anything goes wrong?

Does both commands have same process & features?

Run every thing one after the other. To learn more go to this tutorial from Brink. to answer your question though componentcleanup cleans your WinSxS folder:The WinSxS folder is located in the Windows folder, for example

C:\Windows\WinSxS. It’s the location for Windows Component Store files. The Windows Component Store is used to support the functions needed for the customization and updating of Windows. Here are some examples of how the Windows Component Store files are used:

• Using Windows Update to install new component versions. This keeps systems secure and up-to-date.

• System recovery from corruption or boot failures.
• Uninstalling problematic updates.
