I just got a new phone that has mobile hotspot access. I try to use it on my laptop but i can't bring up any webpages. It shows that its connected and has a really good signal but it says no network access. I have run all troubleshooters and they all say its an ethernet cable that is unplugged. I even tried to tether it instead but apparently my laptop is not compatible with tethering. Last week i used a different hotspot that wasn't a cell phone but just a box that you add data to and it worked perfectly fine. It connected right away and I could access any and all websites. I am confused as to why i could use one hotspot but not the one on the phone. I have also previously used someone elses mobile hotspot on this laptop with no problems and it was the same cell company that i use now. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I have had this laptop for over a year now and this is the first time i am having problems with it but i do seem to be having a lot of problems with it in the last few weeks.

Have you called your Cell Provider to make sure they have the proper codes in their system on your account, so you have that capability?

Welcome to Eight Forums,

I would refresh your network connections by removing all the SSIDs then try re-connecting to the HotSpot. Here's a straight forward tutorial provided by Brink.

An update will be nice.
