computer constantly freezing every ten seconds or so...

HELP....

It has just started a few hours ago and is constantly doing it? every ten seconds it freezes and I loose control of everything. it last only a second or two and then starts all over again. Prior to this I lost ability to start Red Alert telling me "....administrator privileges...." and when I do it just doesn't start.

P.S. - heaps of administrative event errors and warning....but I don't understand any of it.

...and when I try to play a game it jumps me back out to the desktop.
