Hi there ,

I've been struggling trying to find out how I can change the Selected File color , in File Explorer since

I switched to Windows 8. Looks like it's now a setting in the registry under control panel - colors -

and have to enter values manually ???

I am sick of the always blue-ish selection color when selecting multiple file in Detail view and or

thumbnail view , it's so HARD to see what's selected in this Powder blue color.

Please if anyone can assist in help me with this , much appreciated .

Thank you

Ralph

Hello honsbeek.

If you like, the selected file color can be changed in high contrast mode from personalization.

can the color be changed in Registry in Control Panel - color

I don't know. Probably, but seems easier to point and click in seconds than to edit the registry.
It's easy to switch back and forth between saved color schemes.
High contrast also affects the start / apps views / charms and Internet Explorer.
Kind of awesome and annoying at the same time to have an altered browser web view.

Maxthon seems immune to high contrast and stays defaulted.

The File explorer selected text can be changed quickly to any preference using the options available in personalization and changed back to the default simply with a point and click.

Window Blinds is an awesome customization tool.

I have used it,
but find the skins do not work in high contrast mode
as many programs also have issues with high contrast mode.
