Solved Cloning SSHD to SSD Windows 8

Ok, I think I found my problem after Clonezilla didn't work I started looking at a couple things and found that my current drive is GPT partitioned instead of MBR, the first time i plugged in my ssd I initialized it as MBR, so now i have two questions. Is it possible to switch the ssd to GPT and then use a free cloning software to duplicate the drive? Or do I have to find a software that can clone and convert from GPT to MBR ssd?

You really shouldn't have a problem with any of the cloning software once you have both drives in the same format.

Ok, I'm in class right now and gonna do this when i get home but just so I'm not mistaken, what I'm going to do is plug in my SSD format it and convert it from MBR to GPT then do a clone using Macrium or Clonezilla and it should work this time, the only thing I can think of is it not working cause the software dosen't support GPT. Do you have experience cloning a GPT drive?

All cloning software I know of has been updated to support GPT by now. Have had success with both Macrium and Clonezilla.

Since this post i found AOMEI PARTITION ASSISTANT (Free) and the copy disk works perfect every time.

If you want to only copy the os partition on a single boot system then you should choose the MIGRATE OS TO SSD option, this way it also copies the bootmanager and the system will boot..
