When a program as GREAT as this comes along that is as useful and professionally done as this one, I feel something more than just a "Thank you" is required. I couldn't find anywhere to make a voluntary donation. I can't donate a lot, but I feel your effort deserves something.

The glass effect is not supported by the system. The only program I've seen that tries to emulate it is Vistart, but it doesn't look very good.

I think I'll just stay with your version. It works perfectly and I've already customized it the way that I like.

I've upgraded to the latest version of ClassicShell, and it seems the option to 'bypass start screen on startup' is gone?

It's under the Windows 8 Settings tab > skip Metro screen.

Not finding it, or the win8 settings tab? Is this in the "Classic Explorer" part of the software?

If you are looking at the Basic settings, it should be near the bottom.
If you are viewing all settings, it is in a separate tab called "Windows 8 Settings".

Am I looking in the correct place? I don't see it in Classic Explorer's basic page (I'm sure this is where it used to be in older versions). Nor do I have a Windows 8 settings tab under the all settings page. This is a fresh installation of CS 3.6.2 from SourceForge, on a new upgrade to Win8 Pro, so it's not interfering with any older versions of CS.

The ability to skip the metro screen is part of the Classic Start Menu component. It has its own settings.

I have everything set up the way I want with the shell. It boots right to my desktop. The only drawback is that my programs don't auto load such as Nexus, real temp, logitec keyboard etc. I have the icons in my task bar and have to click each one to load them. In the start up it shows these programs enabled but they don't auto load like in Win 7. Am I missing a setting or is Win Shell just set up to go to the desktop and any programs have to be started manually. Thanks for this program it is great

Classic Shell 3.6.3 was just released. It fixes some slowdowns in the start menu and adds support for multiple monitors in Windows 8. Now every taskbar gets its own start button.
