Hello,

I want to have a Microsoft account linked to my computer, but I don't want to put in my Microsoft Account password when I log in (I either want a different password or no password), and I don't want to change the current password for the account.

Is this possible?

Hello Perfectchaos, and welcome to Eight Forums.

Sorry, but if you want to use a Microsoft account instead of a local account, then you must enter the password for your Live ID account since that is used as your Microsoft account.

As a workaround, you could use the tutorial below to have Windows 8 sign in to your Microsoft account automatically at log on so you do not have to manually enter your password.

Hope this helps,

Ah not quite what I am looking for, that's unfortunate if it is the best I can do but thanks for the help!

The ideal case is I can still have a password just a different one and that it works if I lock the computer as well, not just on startup
