I think this goes here. ok, used to if I wanted to open something like making a small photo larger, I would just
left click on it. but a few days ago it changed. now I half to right click on it where there is a tall list of things. I must left click on the word open which is at the top of the list. how do I fix that back to the way it was?

Mate,

you haven't given nearly enough information for us to help! A photo where?
Please tell us the program you are using - a screenshot of the buttons you are talking about may be helpful in identifying the problem.

well on here for example, if someone post a link for me to go to, to left click on the link will not work. I have to right
click on it, then left on the word open for the link to work.

Oh! You are talking about the context menu.
Try using another mouse if you have one on hand, to see if it will work - this lets us know if it is a mouse issue or a computer issue.

Does it work anywhere else? Is it only in internet explorer that this happens? Are you using the app or the regular version? Does the problem occur in both versions?

Does your mouse come with software (drivers), perhaps on CDs? If it is a high tech mouse, it may need to have software installed for it. If it is just a normal mouse, it should be fine.

Is your computer a dell i660s-5390bk?

no the buttons did not get switched around.

yes I have a dell but I don't remember what model. now the mouse works in several areas, such as scrolling. and even seems to
work here when posting. but neither the mouse nor the keyboard will work the search engine. so I can't get it to look for anything
I type in.

Well, I may need some info on what kind of Dell you are using, to see if certain suggestions I make will help fix the problem. You can run this tool below that will help with finding out what kind of computer you have (it will run on your computer, but it will not actually install anything):

System Info - See Your System Specs - Windows 7 Help Forums

Were you able to try another mouse in your computer? This may help to see if your LEFT mouse button is broken, or if it is a system problem. It is sounding like the mouse works, but a single button doesn't.

The keyboard is new information. Does the keyboard not work simply because you cannot use your LEFT mouse button to click in the search box, in order to begin typing? If this is the case, then your keyboard may not actually have a problem, and it may just be your mouse.

got it. about 20 or so hours ago I turned the pop up blocker on, and that is what was causing the problems. I figured it out going over my notes of what I had done, when I saw the pop up blocker turned on, I turned it off. now everything if working find.

Weird. Is this a pop-up blocker you've installed? Because windows built-in pop-up blocker for IE shouldn't do that, and it works on all computers I've ever come across.

Congrats on figuring it out! I wouldn't have guessed that.
