Hi,

When I am browsing the internet and go to upload a file, I notice that it always defaults back to the folder where I last uploading from (even after a reboot). Can I set a default somewhere so it always goes back to a specific location and not just the last one access. I've noticed that this is browser specific, and therefore as I am using Chrome I thought that it would be a setting in Chrome, but apparently not. I've read that it is within the program 'group policy settings' but I cannot find this in Windows 8.1.

Can anybody help?

Thanks

Paul

Welcome.
When you say "upload", are you talking about getting a file from the internet and storing it on your computer?
If so, this is called "downloading" and if you go to settings and then advanced (at the very bottom of the settings page) you can set the default location to download files.

No, I'm talking about uploading. When I start to upload a file onto the internet after clicking the button (or link) it opens the explorer window to the last folder which I uploaded from. I just wondered if I was able to control which folder in the file directory it chooses to open. For example if I last uploaded a file from C:\Users\Paul\myfiles would it be possible to force Explorer to always open at C:\Users\Paul\myuploads (instead of the 'myfiles' address) if i uploaded another file?

No! Because one can upload from anywhere why would one want the upload source be fixed? That's why Windows provides the "Browse" button so you can find the files to be uploaded. It's easier than having to move the files you want to upload to "C:\Users\Paul\myuploads" before you then uploaded them. Simple really.
