Tami Reller, Chief Marketing Officer of Windows, gives the crowd a demo of the Windows 8 preview during the Microsoft keynote at CES 2012. Also confirms that late Feb for Beta, and hopes that everybody will download it.

great for tablet, I have to say. Don't think I'll be running it on desktop, but will wait for more information.

I will have a go at the Beta when it comes out, but, if were stuck with that horrible metro in the beta stage, then we know we will not get the option to remove it. That being the case, I will not get win 8 when it come out.

i will try the beta, but at this point its only probably going to stay on there if i can boot straight to desktop, metro is just too boring and bland for me, its like a giant ass iphone...

You can boot direct to desktop. See the tuts !

I talk about the one that provides an on/off function to metro UI. It's quite good ! :)
