Can't load new OS

Hi I have just bought Lenovo ideapad 330 17 ast But I cant find the fkey to load my OS Ihave upgraded the hard driveto a SSD 750. I need to do a OS install. help would be most greatfull thank you.

If I'm not mistaken either Fn+F12 key should bring up the Boot menu or you should have what's referred to as the NOVO button or slot. I have a button up near the power on the left side of my Lenovo laptop. If you have the slot, you poke a pin into it to depress the button similar to ejecting a CD/DVD tray - you might see what appears to be an arch next to the slot.

Either way you'll need to push in a smallish button or into a smallish hole, and I wouldn't use anything with crud on it like a ball point pin, use something clean like a paperclip or if you have an old pin from a CD/DVD drive.

You will need to get into the BIOS and disable Secure Boot before you can boot to the USB stick, and have booting to USB enabled. Make the necessary changes in the BIOS, shut off the laptop, then either press or poke the NOVO button... I think this how you do it on your Lenovo.

Hi thanks I see the little hole next to the card slot and led light showing laptop is on I did however chech the BIOS preesing F2. secure boot is diabled for some reason lagacy is showing for boot sequencenot uefi I will change that.
But thanks I will try your intructions first.

The best settings for the OS are a bit different between 7, 8, and 10... there's no mention of what OS was on your laptop, reinstalling the same OS, upgrading to another OS If you have 'Load OS Defaults', maybe 'Optimized' this is a good start, check and see what changes are made and tweak accordingly.
