Can't install Microsoft Office 2013 64 Bit

Whenever I try to install Microsoft Office 2013, the progress bar reaches full then reverses about half way then I get an error saying "Microsoft setup bootstrapper has stopped working". I have already tried clean booting, safe mode, turning off AV, using repair kit. I tried installing Microsoft .NET framework but it said my OS already comes with it, however I cannot find it in Programs and Features.

INFO
-I do not press "Install" I use a custom install settings
-I have autorun disabled so I open it by running setup.exe as admin
-I have the preview evaluation version
-32 bit version will install however I want 64 bit because my computer is a 64 bit OS

Print Spooler is a service. Go to Start> Run> and type this command: services.msc (cr)
A new window will open, browse for Print Spooler, click to open, stop service, disable service, reboot and test install again.

Still won't install.

Sorry that post didn't help. Maybe some other forum member, that has had the exact same installation problem, would be better suited to assist you from here. One last thought, you might want to try and install it with your anti-virus disabled. Good luck.

I found that the x64 version wont install if there is the slightest trace of a previous x86 installation, the x86 version will install however. Did you run the Fixit as linked earlier on? Did you make sure all old Office elements were removed including any updates?

Yes I did. MicrosoftFixit20055.mini, right? I noticed some things when running it:
-When it says its done in cmd it just says a path and does not close, I have to manually close it
-It says "Found legacy version of office that will not be removed"
-No matter how many times I run it, it constantly says it resolved the same problems

I've only used it once some time ago and can't remember what it said and did except that it worked. But I never got that Bootstrap error, it just simply refused to install saying I was using the wrong version (x64 as against x86) so that's when I went looking for a Fixit.
I'm wondering if you may have had Works installed at some stage?
Sorry I really am not much help, just throwing thoughts out there.
I would post on the MS forums as well and see if any of their people know what's going on.
It can't do any harm to ask.

Microsoft Works is defunct now but older systems often came with it. It was a very watered down version of Word with a touch of some other parts of Office thrown in. If you don't know what it is, chances are it's not that anyway, so forget that idea.

I've noticed that I had almost the same issue with installing 64 bit of 2010. I tried the 32 bit and it worked with 2010 as well. Before I had Microsoft Office 2010, I had 2003. Is it possible that office 2003 is the cause of this?

Any remnants of Office x86 will cause that, including, and sorry I forgot to mention this earlier, the downloadable Powerpoint, Word, Visio and Excel Viewers that some people who didn't have or want the complete Office suite had installed.

It's no big deal really except the x64 version is more secure obviously.

How do I remove those?

Control Panel > Programs > Uninstall a Program - the normal way and then go to Post #2 click the link and scroll down to the first response there and follow those steps, again if you've already done them, especially Step 1.

I can't find any office program in Programs. What exactly should I search for?

Keywords (they may not be in the list anyway), Microsoft along with Office, Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, or Works.

If you don't find any use the fixit from MS that is linked in post #2.

Office x 64

My Office came preloaded on both pcs without the disc. I tried to install from different places but got no luck with the traditionally recommend 32 bit. Finally I called both Dell and MS and asked for the 64 bit installation which worked with no problem. None has been able to explain this I am going to send you the Office 2010 link where you can see how it is constructed.
Call your pc maker if it came preloaded and ask them to send you the 64 bit link. If they won't then ask MS for it. For some reason my 64 bit machine will not load the 32 bit office.
Once they send it copy and paste somewhere you can access it again.

PS I think I am not supposed to send a link like this as I was chastised once in a forum so will hold back.
I notice it does mention Digital River.
