Solved can't activate windows 8.1: error 0xc004f074

Hi everyone!
So i've been using windows 8.1 for a year or so and a couple of days ago ive recieved a notification for a windows update but ive always closed those and i noticed some time later in the bottom right of the screen "windows 8.1 pro build 9600" and a watermark next to it saying "activate windows go to pc settings" and so i did.

so when i got in the pc setting i clicked on the "put a product key" but when i put the product key it said "this key didn't work. check if this is the correct one and try again or try a new one" but i wrote the correct one!, so then i clicked "activate windows online" but it didn't work, it said "it was not possible to activate windows. try again later", so then i cliked "error details" and it said "code error:0xC004F074 the software licencing serviçe reported it wasn't possible activate the product. it wasn't possible to contact any KMS" so i was completely confused to what was going on!

so i checked google and i found this website:

i tried every method here and it failed!
the first method around step 4, it said basicaly the samething in the error details.
the 2nd method gave the same problem when i tried to activate the product key in the pc settings
the 3rd method said "it wasn't possible to activate windows by telephone"

so i tried searching for other ways to fix this and i could only find one other who said something to do with turning secureboot off and on in BIOS but i dont have secureboot in BIOS so im absolutely cluess on what to do!!
Could someone please help me? thank you.

The reason is that the installed key is incorrect. It is used to activate counterfeit licences.

If your PC was pre-installed with Win 8 it should have the OEM key in the firmware. To check run ShowKeyPlus.

But i have the correct key, the OS wasn´t pre instaled, it was installed by a pc technitian who installed it for me so i used a program called "windows 8 product key viewer" to get it, hell even speccy shows the same product key, so i know it is the correct one!
So that isn't it!

Ok i just downloaded and open the program and it showed me the following things:
the installed key which was the key showed by the programs i mentioned.
the original key which i just tried and it didn't work, it said "this key can't be used to activate this windows edition. try another one"
and the OEM key isn't there, it says "OEM key not present in the firmware"

So what do i do?

Also i want to add that i tried to atleast take out the huge watermark in the bottom right but i cant because the option for it in the action center i bieleve is greyed out so theres another problem!

Post a screenshot of ShowKey - NB: click the keys to mask it. I need to see the edition installed and those of the keys.

Also a WDT report would help.

nope, didn't work the key shown in that website is the same key shown in the "installed key" in the picture
this simply refuses to work!, do you think a reinstall would work?
this was all working fine and dandy for a year or so untill that blasted update notification so i really don't understand what went wrong!
well atleast i don't have that annoying "get windows 10" icon anymore

No, you have a counterfeit installation using a key that you are not entitled to.

The update probably checked that and flagged it as illegal.

Like I said, you need a new genuine key.

So how do i get a new genuine product key?, on the website you gave me, there was a link saying "get a new windows product key" but when i click there it says "we can't find that page"
Or does that mean i have to go to a store and buy the os again?

Yes, but I'd suggest go to the seller and ask them why they sold you an illegal copy of Windows 8 and threaten to report them to MS if they don't give you a genuine key (you can then give them a good butt-kicking!)

Their are many places to get keys like Amazon, Newegg etc. Check for specials.

The site I linked to is not for you and me but for companies that use those to install on their PC's.
