Cannot Update windows 8 .. help me

Hi Guys ,
Am using windows 8 and i cannot update windows , while searching for the updates it shows an error code 80072f76 .. i have tried deleting folders in "Softwaredistribution" as per the instruction from Microsoft site ... nd tride trouble shooting also..but no change at all help me friends ... plsssss

If you've gone through all the Microsoft recommendations, try disabling your antivirus (if present) and see if that can get you through this latest update attempt.

I have tried that too.. But the same is happening .. :-(

Did you checked your Network Connection whether it is active or not. Also check your firewall whether there are exceptions for Windows Update or not.

If these do not fix the problem then you can go to this link and download the Microsoft FixIt and run that

Windows Update error 80072efe or 80072f76

See if it can fix the problem or not.

am Using Hotspotshield for connecting to the internet as they are using proxy over here ... is that may be the prob ? i have tried " allowing apps in firewall " nd i tried microsoft fixIt .. but it shows like this ( check the attachment )

Go to this link and follow the steps :-

Error code 0x8024402C when you try to install updates on Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites

Its the problem with your network connection or proxy settings and in my opinion you should uninstall Hotspotshield and connect to internet directly because Hotspotshield causes many proxy error and the error 0x8024402C refers to the problem in proxy settings in your Windows.
