Solved Cannot turn on live tile for weather app

I can't seem to turn on live tile for my weather app. When I right click on it, there is no option at the bottom of the screen to turn it on.

Compared to the photos app, it is currently running live tile by default, and when I right click on it, I can toggle live tile on and off.

Is there something special I need to do with the weather app to activate live tile?

Hello Pauleduc,

Double check to make sure that the Windows Time service is enabled, and that your system time is set accurately and synced.

You could also do this by opening an elevated command prompt, then typing the commands below and press Enter after each one.

net start w32time

w32tm /resync
​

Afterwards, see if you have the "Turn live tile on/off" option.

Shawn.. many thanks for the reply.

I checked and windows time service was not running. I manually started it, and also set it to automatically start. However, this had no effect on live tiling. I also shut down and restarted the system, and again, no effect. I checked the service again, and noticed that although it was now set to automatic, it was still not running, so I manually started it once again. And again, there was no effect on tiling - could not set the weather service to live tiling.

I should mention that this OS was a clean install, not an upgrade.

Any other ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

EDIT:
Whoops.. forgot to do the re-sync.. for some reason, my clock was a day off, and also 12 hours off. Corrected and did a successful re-sync and now live tiles is working for the weather app.
