Hello,
I have an Hp Envy dv6. Yesterday when I restarted my laptop, it would not load windows (8). Kept wanting to do automatic repair and then diagnosing the pc. Says automatic repair couldn't repair the pc.
The logfile:C:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt keeps coming up. I put that into the command prompt which starts with the letter x:
Was able to read the logfile and it said that it has idea what is causing the problem so to speak.
I am not able to run sfc/scannow in command prompt. It says the windows resource protection could not start the repair service.
I cannot even boot into safe mode or safe mode with network. None of the options are working.
I was able to backup and I have that saved to a flash drive.
I'm on my other laptop but I need my other one which has important items on it.

This might work: tweaking.com's Windows Repair (All in One), Safe Mode with Networking, let it make registry and SRP backups, repairs section - items 26 & 27, add the one mentioning safe mode fixing; restart at once if not twice, allow Windows to come to full desktop, allowing it to re-settle.
