Solved Cannot add tiles to desktop

Dell Inspiron 17r

Trying to create new tiles on the Windows 8 start screen, I go to the desktop and create my shortcut there, but when I write click on the shortcut it does not give me an option to pin it to the start screen, on my other computer with windows 8 it does, not really sure why it does not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

once you get the shortcut on your desktop - you need to copy it into the start menu or a start menu folder

This pic shows the menu location in the address bar - note: you have to unhide hidden folders it find it
