Solved Cannot add network printers

I have two network printers, a HP 1006 that is shared off my Windows Home Server and a Brother 2070N that is shared from another Dell PC running Windows 7. I can print to these shared printers from every other PC attached to my home LAN but the Windows 8 PC. I cannot add drivers but I can "see" both printers when I go to Control Panel and try to add the printers. Anyone else have trouble with printing?

Cannot connect to my network-attached printers even though Win8 sees them. I'll hook one up to the Win8 PC via USB and see if that works tonight...

Hi azasadny,
The HP Laserjet P1006 not yet compatible with Windows8, a software for your product should become available during November, as you may find listed below:
HP LaserJet 4100 Printer series -  HP LaserJet and Color LaserJet - Windows 8 support - c03365145 - HP Business Support Center

Be sure to follow the link below for the updated drivers:
Software & Driver Downloads HP LaserJet P1006 Printer | HP® Support

For the brother printer, be sure to download the drivers and configure the shared printers manually, sharing from older OS to a newer one will not be done automatically.

You may find the drivers below:
Brother Solutions Center: HL-2070N: Downloads: United States

Follow the steps below, although they intended for Windows 7, the steps are almost identical.
During the product selection click the Have disk button, extract the driver package above and browse to the extracted folder to select its INF..
How to add Printer manually in your Windows 7 Operating System computer?

I still cannot print to my Brother HL-3045CN or my HL-2070N from the Win8.1 PC, so I'm going back to Win7. I've had enough of the constant printing issues. My PC is the only one on the LAN running and it's the only one that will not print, no matter what I do...
