Can I prevent IE9 from loading history into search field?

To elaborate, let's say I have previously visited Apple.com. However, today I'm looking for Apple Flavored Schnops. When I go to the address bar to type in apple, it automatically fills the search bar with Apple.com. I HATE that, especially when I go to search for something that is one word, because when I hit enter, it will bring me to the closest previously visited match.

Is there anyway that I can get IE9 to show the suggestions, show the history, but not fill my address bar with it?

Thanks.

Here's another one. I frequent ESPN. But, when I go to search for ESP, it fills the menu bar with ESPN.com.

That's annoying....

Well, the easy solution is to type ESP or Apple and if you see a longer URL, hit delete instead of enter, and that will allow give you what you want.

However, yes.. you can turn this off completely if you want to. Or you can clear it on demand, tools -> Internet Options -> Browsing History

Indeed, that would be the easy solution, and it's what I currently find myself doing. Does not, however, change the annoyance factor when you type 95-105 WPM on average and are quick with the Enter key! :D.
