 So close to loosing it here!

I have Comcast cable internet at 5-6 mbps. I have their combo internet/router box but I had them put it in bridge mode or something so I could use my own router...Which is a Netgear WNR1000v3. I have a brand new Windows 8.1 computer things been fine had it for a month...past couple days my internet speeds have been really slow (1.4-1.7 mbps) or I'm constantly loosing internet (even though icon in bottom right doesn't change) I can't load up google.com or any other website and getting booted from my online games due to lost connection.

I've power cycled everything, rebooted router from the admin page. Everything! No other computers (all others win 7) on the network seem to be having a problem with their internet connection or speed just me! (as far as I know)

I'm using WPA2-Personal AES Encryption Type. Also I thought maybe I was getting Bluetooth interruption so I changed wireless mode to 150 mbps in hopes that would change it to N instead of B or G?

@YoloWaffle no it's a Broadcom, my son's computer has an Intel Centrino...Do you have suggestions for him? Sometimes his internet goes out but it's different then how mine goes out.

Summerbear5 to find out the spec's on the machine, just run the following command in run: MSinfo32.exe It will show everything you need to know.

Open up a cmd window and run the following: netsh wlan show all

It will show any and all wireless A/P's around you. Gives more info than Xirrus will.

I think I have to redo my results because that is something I have noticed...sometimes it shows in my list all the networks around me and sometimes it only shows mine while all other disappear. When I first ran Xirrus it showed all but mine then it showed only mine. I'll redo the results again and post.

Sorry for the delay......Channel 1 and 11 are commonly used in your Wi-Fi neighbors, Channel 6 will be better for you then monitor your connection.

Please give us an update. Thanks.

Since I changed it to channel 3 things have been going very well, not slow as it was before but I'll need more time to test it to be sure. Would channel 6 be better than 3?

The recommended channels are Channel 1, 6 and 11. If you're not having an issue with 3 you may leave it and monitor, change it to 6 if the issue persist.

Glad to hear....

Thank you so much for helping. When I seen the second scan results and noticed a lot of my neighborhood was on the same channel it clicked in my mind to change it hehe. Thanks again for your help and it's going really good on channel 3 so I'll leave it for now.
