BT 11AC Wireless Dongle

Hi, just upgraded my home broadband to Sky fiber unlimited (UK). Currently have a wireless dongle connecting my PC, an old Dell XPS420 running windows 8 64bit. I also updated my dongle from the BT duel wifi 600 one to the new BT 11ac Dongle 900 version.

I thought I had installed it correctly as its pretty much self installed. I can see the wifi networks with it but windows tells me that it can not connect to the network with the new 11ac dongle. however the 600 dongle still works fine. Trying to connect to a sky hub. Nobody seems to know anything about this issue. Is it a windows issue that I created (most likely) or does anyone know if the dongle and hub are not compatible.

Try updating to the latest drivers from either Windows update or manufacturer's site.

Don't know what that Sky Hub will handle. May have to set everything to b/g standard. Is it even dual-band?
