Solved BSOD while using Photoshop

Hi, I've started having some problems with my 3 year old Sony Vaio notebook.
On january I woke up one day to find that my notebook wouldn't turn on - after messing around for a bit I thought the HD could be corrupted, did a checkdisk and managed to get it running again.

Since then I've been getting blue screens every now and then, mainly while using programs like Adobe Photoshop, InDesign or Autocad. Sometimes it just happened at random, right after I turned it on or while having just chrome and spotify open. I've attached the zip file here.

I've thought of replacing the HD, but I just wanted to make sure first what's really causing this... Any help is welcome! Thanks in advance

I turned my notebook off this afternoon and tried to turn it on again but it started to give me multiple BSODs. It loaded windows and then after trying to open anything, like chrome for example, it would give me a blue screen. I tried it 3 times before forcefully turning it off... these were the new errors:
Driver power state failure
System thread exception
Bad pool header

Run SeaTools DOS to check the integrity of your HDD. SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums
Run following tests

  1. Short Drive Self Test
  2. Short generic
  3. Long generic

If the short generic fails, no need for the long generic.
Note   Note
Do not run SeaTools on an SSD as the results will be invalid.

Sorry for the late reply,

I couldn't run SeaTools through a bootable USB. I tried with different pen drives but it just wouldn't boot, it just went back to Vaio recovery screen even when I changed the boot order in BIOS, so I had to use SeaTools for Windows instead.

Did a short drive self test and a short generic one and it passed both. I left it overnight doing the long generic test but my computer must have crashed at some point, so I'm doing it again now.

I'm not having luck with Long generic test, I've tried 3 times and always get a BSOD while on around 3%.

Edit: tried it again and this time it gave me: Long Generic - FAIL

A replacement for your hard drive would be necessary.

I've changed my hard drive yesterday for a hitachi 1tb 7200rpm. I did a fresh install of Windows 8.1 and was using my programs normally.
Today I got a BSOD "System_service_exception" after trying to open Photoshop, it mentioned the file nvlddmkm.sys.
Anyone has a guess of what could be the problem? I was sure changing the hd would solve the problem...

Nvlddmkm = Nvidia display driver, try following

Please uninstall everything of Nvidia using Display Driver Uninstaller and install new drivers from Sony. Be sure the clean install box is checked and only install the Graphics driver and the PhysX driver.

Thank you for your help, axe0! I uninstalled the drivers and installed the ones from Sony and so far no problems :)

Glad to hear :)

Please watch it for another few days and let me know how it goes just in case it happens again anytime soon.
