Solved BSOD when playin Deus EX

Hello,

Sometimes when I play Deus Ex Human Revolution trough steam I get the bad_pool_caller.
I've attached my minidump files.
Can you please help me?

Sorry for the delay in responding. There just aren't that many people who do BSOD analysis, so at times we get a bit overwhelmed!

Your BIOS dates from 2011. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

Daemon Tools (and Alcohol % software) are known to cause BSOD's on some Win7 systems (mostly due to the sptd.sys driver, although I have seen dtsoftbus01.sys blamed on several occasions). I strongly suspect that this hold true for Win8 systems also.

Please un-install the program, then use the following free tool to ensure that the troublesome sptd.sys driver is removed from your system (pick the 32 or 64 bit system depending on your system's configuration): ~~[DEL] DuplexSecure - FAQ [/DEL]~~ Link broken as of 21 Jul 2012

Hello,

I want to thank you for your response and I don't mind waiting a bit.
I've unstalled Daemon tools and poweriso.
Also I tried to upgrade Avast but it was already the latest version.
As for the Saitek drivers. I've downloaded the latest version but I can't delete them because I need them to get full functionality of my keyboard and mouse.
As for the rest I runned your SF Diagnostic Tool and attached the complete zip file.
Also I know my drivers are not the most recent ones because I have a laptop that whas discontinued. If I follow my manufacturers website the drivers are even older.

There comes a point where the older stuff gets in the way of what you're doing. The technique to troubleshoot it is to remove the older stuff (temporarily) and see if that fixes it. Eventually we'll find out what's causing it - then you can make a decision about what to do permanently. If nothing works, then we have to wonder if the system isn't compatible with Win8.

Was this an upgrade installation (I see signs of it in the WER section of MSINFO32)? If so, you may want to consider a clean install of Win8 to see if that helps (but make a backup image BEFORE starting - just in case things get worse rather than better).

Download a fresh copy of Avast
Uninstall Avast
Run the Avast uninstall utility (free here: avast! Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for avast! Removal )
Install the freshly downloaded copy of Avast
See if that updates the firewall driver

Remove ATI drivers/software, then use this procedure to install the drivers only: ATI video cards - DRIVER ONLY installation procedure
