Before Windows loads, press the key that gets you into the BIOS settings and search for CPU settings.

thanks. I did get to the bios menu and couldn't locate the CPU settings. I literally went over every option - there wasn't any CPU options there.

Please advise.

The only option to overclock your CPU is in the BIOS.
Please take pictures of the settings and post them.

Set the settings to default settings, that may solve it.

Thats something I doubt, because a computer should work properly without overclocking.
If you're computer won't crash while overclocking (if its set to overclock, what I doubt right now), than its not a problem.
