Solved BSOD on Tomb Raider (2013) and Bioshock Infinite

Been getting various BSOD on these two games. I suspect it might be Nvidia driver related, but I am using the latest drivers. This is a newly built system, so I have no experience with a prior driver set.

Tomb Raider is notorious for problems with Nvidia systems, but I have tried all the fixes I could find (disabling tressfx, tesselation, borderless window mode etc). Even dropped my system down to the lowest possible settings. It blue screens within an hour, perhaps telling me it's time to get up and stretch, or go outside and smell some flowers :)

I just started playing Bioshock Infinite tonight, and got two BSOD, and I admit I am playing it on ultimate settings.

Also, when I have gotten the BSOD, I will hear a loud buzzing sound from my speakers, which goes away after my system reboots.

Despite these BSOD, the games play very well and smooth.

I've also recently played through Rage and Metro 2033 to completion with no problems at all other than the fact that Metro 2033 plays like a pig.

I basically use the computer for gaming only (steam) and don't have much of anything installed on it.

Would it be recommended to uninstall my current video card drivers and use a previous version?

That's good advice, thanks. As I mentioned, the game is notorious for problems with nvidia hardware, but all the tips that helped everyone else haven't worked for me. And with it also happening with Bioshock Infinite, I was thinking it must be more than just a game setting. Hopefully only a driver issue.

Just wanted to update this. My newly built pc came with nvidia driver v340.52 installed. I removed it with the display driver removal tool and installed v337.88. No more blue screens. Not sure if it was the actual driver package v340.52, or maybe a corrupt file from it. As it is, I'll stick with the v337.88. Makes me leery about installing future versions though.

My specs, in case this is of use to someone else having a similar problem:
