Solved BSOD on startup (Kernel Data Inpage Error) and gaming

Hi,

I've been suffering a high volume of BSODs - both before and after I switched hard drive last week.

I'm getting Kernel_Data_Inpage_Error on almost every first startup. In addition, I often get a Page Fault in Unpaged Area BSOD when gaming (primarily Max Payne 3) - dxgmms1.sys has been referenced on more than one of these occasions.

Dump file log (hopefully attached).

Thanks in advance!

Only 127 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 160 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

Please install the drivers for this device:
SM Bus Controller PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_8C22&SUBSYS_50011458&REV_04\3&11583659&0&FB The drivers for this device are not installed.
It's associated with the Intel chipset for your motherboard.

The most recent errors point to a problem with the disk hardware.
Please check your connections.
Then run these free hard drive diagnostics: Hard Drive Diagnostic Procedure

There may also be a video problem - but let's work with the hard disk issues first.
Why did you swap hard drives? What day did you do this on?

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

cpuz137_x64.sys - this driver hasn't been added to the DRT as of this run. Please search Google/Bing for the driver if additional information is needed.

Hi usasma, thank you for all of the information you provided. I followed each step and sorted all the drivers, however the problem persisted. I then had a proper look under the hood, and believe it or not, I had my graphics card in the wrong slot all along! (PCIE4 rather than PCIE16) Feel free to judge me for this, I feel like an idiot.

Since I moved the card to the correct place the BSODs have stopped, so I will call this thread closed out of hope. Again, thank you for your time.

Sometimes things slip through the cracks. I've done similar things and I use them as a learning experience.
Thanks for letting us know, I'm sure that this will help others who come looking for help with similar problems!
