BSOD & immidiate reboots, random... daily.

Hi kind fellows at Eightforums...

I have a machine, 8.1 Pro, that has become unstable. It had a very similar problem a couple months ago, but updating the Nvidia driver seemed to fix.

Now that it is doing it again, I tried the same fix. I used DDU to clean the existing driver first.

I also did a LAN driver update at the same time.

This seemed to make things a bit better (less frequency of crashing). BSOD messages are always different, and most disappear before I can record them. Here are two:

Memory management
IRQL_not_less_than_or_equal

Another symptom is that my Chrome Browser tabs like to crash. A lot. Reloading the tab seems to solve the issue if only briefly.

I have some mini-dump files that appear to be associated with several applications all within the last few days, in case that helps, but they are a bit big, and unfortunately the attachment manager says they are "invalid".

Thank you for your kind help! Truly appreciated.

Ryder

Hi Ryder,

Please re-upload the zip or run the DM Log Collector again and upload a new zip, the current attached zip is empty.

Very sorry I missed that. Sadly, this repeats. I even ran as administrator. DMLC isn't working, it seems.

What else can we try?

*thank you*

Does the program crash, or does it finish but leave an empty zip file?

Before the tool closes there is a folder called SFdebugFiles present on the desktop, is this folder empty?

The program appears to exit gracefully. There is no folder by that name on the desktop.

There is no folder on the desktop before closing the program?

When the program is closed this folder is deleted, so it is important to check before exiting.

Ah! I missed that distinction... success!

SFDebugFolder.zip is now attached.

**I should also note that my C: drive had become very full, just through a normal acquisition of files. Yesterday I made some room, so that is one change of note.

Please make sure that all your partitions have at least 15% free space, 15% is necessary for Windows to perform background stuff without annoying the user.

Please check your SSDs for firmware updates with Samsung Magician.

Diagnostic Test

RAM TEST

Run MemTest86+ to analyse your RAM. MemTest86+ - Test RAM - Windows 10 Forums

Note   Note
picture.php

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.
