There is a difference between antivirus software(Avast) and MBAM, TDSS and such. These are only scanners and do not conflict with Avast as they are not AVs. They don't have residential protection. You said there is no BSOD when these services are disabled. Try using your laptop like this. Although, I strongly suspect that rundll has something beneath him that is causing the crashees and not that process itself, but test your laptop with it disabled and let me know if any further issues arise.
