Hi Community,

on 11 april I suddenly got a bsod with the error: DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ( nwifi.sys )

My question is, what was the cause of the bsod, and how can I fix this error?
things I've already done: updated all driver and ran windows memory diagnostics tool, showed no errors.
The error is related to my wifi driver from what I understand, I uninstalled the driver, removed my wifi card and reinstalled the driver, but the problem keeps occurring.
These crashes occur randomly and infrequent.

I ran the collector tools, here are the files:

Hi Ouahib12,

The crashes are related to networking indeed, but not necessarily your network drivers.
Other common causes are programs using the network drivers, like Malwarebytes, Tunnelbear and iTunes.

Please run driver verifier using the following settings for 48 hours.
  • Special Pool
  • Force IRQL checking
  • Pool Tracking
  • Deadlock Detection
  • Security Checks
  • Miscellaneous Checks
  • Power framework delay fuzzing
  • DDI compliance checking

Warning: driver verifier can cause boot issues and/or performance issues.

Resetting driver verifier options (recommended in this order)
  1. In normal mode open an administrator command prompt and enter the below command
  2. In safe mode open an administrator command prompt and enter the below command
  3. On 3 boot failures, you'll boot automatically to the recovery options,
    • click Troubleshoot
    • go to the advanced options
    • choose command prompt
    • enter the below command
  4. Boot with the recovery media, see above 4 steps in option 3.
  5. Via the recovery options or recovery media, select a restore point prior enabling driver verifier
Code:
verifier /reset

Crashed when running driver verifier
  1. Reset driver verifier
  2. Boot in normal mode if necessary
  3. Follow Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) Posting Instructions to provide the requested logs

Thanks for your response!
I have enabled driver verifier, luckily. I am not receiving any bsod whatsoever. I will continue to let it run and will reply if driver verifier found something.
(Yeez my cpu keeps hanging at 80% )

Just want to say that before I enabled driver verifier, that I uninstalled Tunnelbear Adapter V9 and the vpn itself. Maybe that was the driver that caused it?

I’ll keep you updated-

Please do NOT include a memory dump unless requested. Generally I don't need them and it poses a security risk for people that are savvy enough to go through the dump with illegimate purposes.
