Solved BSOD during general use WHEA_UNCORRECTABLE_ERROR

Hello,

Firstly, I'd like to say that this site is a wonderful resource and I wish I had found it earlier. That said, my PC has been crashing every 2-3 mins or so since last night. I used to get a BSOD with the same error every other day while gaming. About a week ago the frequency increased after I tried unsuccessfully to upgrade to Win 10 (which also causes a BSOD "SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (igdkmd64.sys)"), since last night my system has been unusable.

I built my computer strictly for gaming about a year and a half ago, all of my other computing (personal and professional) is done on Mac systems... so I'm not well-versed in the PC world.

Since I had to use my laptop to post, I will try to log in via my PC to upload the zip folder from the DM log collector.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Apologies for the delay.
The program I use to analyse dump files crashed every time while trying to analyse, probably too many dump files in a time.

No worries, and thanks for the reply! Is there anything I can do to reduce the number of dumps?

If you had any new bluescreens, please use the tool again and upload the zip file.

The attachment is invalid as it contains nothing.
Please try again.

If you're overclocking, please stop it while troubleshooting.
Please update your Intel drivers for Graphics and CPU.

Thank you! I updated the driver, and haven't had a crash yet. I will report back in a few hours and let you know if it is resolved.

It might be better to wait a few days in case of any bluescreen.
Also, keep track of updates for drivers ;)

The latest crashes are due to a level 0 cache write error.
Please keep an eye on the temperatures.
Please make sure every driver is up to date. This may be hard, because there are a lot of drivers that users are not seeing.
Please make sure there is no bloatware installed that may interfere.
Please check your BIOS and make sure the settings are loaded to default.
Please read Prime95 for instructions for a test on your CPU.

I'm going to mark this thread solved.... I was finally able to upgrade to win10. Thanks again!

You're welcome.

What exactly have you done in the 4 weeks that have past by?

Quite a bit. After disabling my over clocking and upgrading all the drivers I could find, I did the auto upgrade to Win10. I kept getting BSODs unless I booted in Safe Mode, so then I did a clean install of Win10 and added everything back one-by-one. For my build I need to use Virtu MVP, which was causing the crash in Win10.

Unfortunately I lost my product key, so I just let the PC sit for 2 weeks before rolling back to an unactivated Win8.1. Everything is working fine now with no over clocking.

Great, good to hear that the problem is solved :)
