Solved BSOD and system hangs: Memory probs?

Hi all,

About 6 months ago, I started noticing that my PC was no longer stable. Computer would crash or hang randomly, prompting manual restarts. When this all started occurring, I had not added new hardware or overclocked the system. I ran some stability tests / diagnostics to see if I could narrow down the issue.

Prime95 would detect errors within 10 minutes. Sometimes, system would hand or BSOD during this test.
MemTest86 would detect errors, either immediately or after 4+ hours of running. Sometimes, system would hang or BSOD during this test.
Windows Memory Diagnostics would either pass with no issues or hang for over 12 hours in one spot.
I removed all but 1 stick of RAM and ran these tests again for each stick to find that all sticks would produce similar issues.

In case all my RAM was defective, I used RAM from an old Dell I had lying around but same issues would occur.
I updated some of the drivers I could think of (Graphics, SSD, network)
I swapped out my power supply, removed unnecessary hardware (second graphics card, all but 2GB RAM, speakers, etc.)

System still manages to hang or crash during intensive applications (games) or just while sitting at the desktop.

Any help on this issue would be appreciated.
Thanks

You make-a command rate = 2t in motherboard setting.

Also make-a-update from trouble ASUS site: ASACPI.sys

and

also make-a update: Rt630x64.sys

Prime95 tests:
- RAM
- CPU Cache
- Memory controller (on the mobo or on the CPU - depending on the make/model of the CPU) Yours is probably on the CPU

Since you did the proper tests to isolate which stick it was (and found they all had the same problem) - it must be either the CPU cache or the memory controller.

Try the CPU stress tests at this link: Hardware Diagnostics

I tried running CPU Stability Test 6.0, the Fossil CPU Load test as well as AMD's Overdrive Utility stability test with all resulting in either a system hang or another ntoskrnl.exe BSOD.

Please upload new crash dumps for these and we will have a fresh look to see what issues might remain.

If you're testing overclocked speeds for any hardware with those listed softwares, that in itself might be the root cause.

I recommend using the system for everyday needs, doing all you want to do otherwise, and if there are no problems, you have an excellent machine.

Just got the time to really sit down and stress test the system again... Everything seems to be ok as of now

Thanks for all the help!
