BSOD After Wake from Sleep

I am randomly facing a BSOD when my PC wakes from sleep. This usually happens when Windows goes to sleep automatically and then I try to wake it after a while. However when I put my PC into sleep manually I don't face the issue when it resumes again. I really appreciate if someone can help me resolve this issue.

I suspected it was a NVIDIA driver issue so I updated and downgraded but the issue still remains. I am currently on version 326.80.

Only 79 Windows Updates installed. Most systems have 100 or more. Please visit Windows Update and get ALL available updates (it may take several trips to get them all).

You have a 802.11n USB Wireless LAN Card:
I do not recommend using wireless USB network devices. Especially in Win7/Win8 systems.
These wireless USB devices have many issues with Win7(and I suspect with Win8) - using Vista drivers with them is almost sure to cause a BSOD.
Should you want to keep using these devices, be sure to have Win7/Win8 drivers - DO NOT use Vista drivers!!!
An installable wireless PCI/PCIe card that's plugged into your motherboard is much more robust, reliable, and powerful.

This could also be a problem with the video card(s). Please try the suggestions here: Video TDR Timeout - 0x116 + 0x117 - Sysnative Forums Don't forget the video stress tests here: Hardware Diagnostics

With only 1 memory dump it's difficult to figure if this is a hardware problem or not. Normally we need at least 5 memory dumps to venture a guess about a hardware problem. I suspect hardware here (due to the involvement of hal.dll in the dump) but cannot be certain at this point.

Please update these older drivers. Links are included to assist in looking up the source of the drivers. If unable to find an update, please remove (un-install) the program responsible for that driver. DO NOT manually delete/rename the driver as it may make the system unbootable! :

first of all, thank you very much for the detailed analysis.

I have disconnected the wireless usb lan card for now I will check if the issue happens again.

Also I have updated the ASUS Suite III to the latest version so it should update all the ASUS .sys files.

In addition I have also updated the graphics drivers to the latest 327.23 (WHQL) and audio drivers to 6971

Unfortunately, I have refreshed the Windows update a couple of times but there aren't any new updates except for 1. Maybe other systems are getting more than a 100 because they have different configuration.

One thing I notice that is strange is that after I keep the system in sleep for a long time and try to wake it up, I get a 5 to 10 second delay before I get to see anything in the screen. For now I will monitor the system for a couple of days and upload my new dumps if I get another BSOD

I wonder about your wireless USB XBox controller. I've seen issues with previous versions, but have only seen one or two problems with the version that you have. To test, please uninstall it's software and physically remove the device from the system.

Another way to test it would be to use Driver Verifier according to these instructions: Driver Verifier Settings

As for the Asus drivers that remain un-updated - don't worry about that for now. BUT, please uninstall the Asus AICharger (Asus On/Off utility) to see if it is causing a problem. If needed, feel free to install the latest, Win8 compatible version after the system has been stabilized.

If all of this doesn't stop the BSOD's, please run these free hardware diagnostics (in particular, make sure that you do all the video and memory tests): Hardware Diagnostics. Let us know the results and we can move on from there.

After uninstalling AI Suite III its seems the problem has been resolved. 3 days have passed and till now no BSOD. Even there is no delay in the display when I wake the pc.

But you mentioned earlier that the problem is coming from AI Charger only, r u sure its not coming also from similar packages in AI Suite, like USB Charger+ and USB 3.0 Boost. I have a feeling those may also be the cause for the BSOD.

AICharger was a known problem a while back - that doesn't mean that it's a problem now tho'. We ask you to remove it in case it still is a problem. If removing AISuite stopped the BSOD's, then that's great!

What we do is ask you to remove:
- known problem drivers
- older drivers
- drivers mentioned in the stack/output of the debugger (other than the lists of drivers).
