Boxing Walk-in Music - Charity Night

I will be wearing a helmet do you think the fighting association will allow an armoured helmet and breast piece?

hmmm... you have a point there! Maybe lose that thing over his shoulder and you might get through the checkpoint or, if they are complaining about the metal protection, go for something a bit different:

Great shot! Now, who could complain about such an environmentally-friendly helmet? OK, this is my last post here because you need to get training so good luck to you!

You will be happy to know I survived my first training session. Was good fun and very intense, didn't quite realise how fit you have to be for this! learnt how to jab and do the old...one ..two.. :)

Lol! I kind of knew it, Harry. You've bee a desk jockey for some time now. :p

Growing up on a river with a lot of skiing/swimming, being very athletic in high school, snow skiing in winter, working construction, having a set of twin 1-1/2 year-older brother who pounded lumps on me, and quite honestly being in a few brawls, I know a little about what it takes.

Running and a lot of sit ups to build up the stomach muscles will help out tremendously. :)

hahaha yeah sitting behind the desk all day is not good for my physical conditioning!!

Sounds like you had a very active upbringing!!! mine was very sporty as well but now years of being a desk jockey is ruining all my hard work.. This is why this is such a great opportunity to get back to where I was with health and fitness..

I had my photo shoot tonight for the boxing, which was a good laugh meant to give intimidating faces I am could not help but laugh! psyching out my opponent might be off the cards!

In Australia we have what they call "Fight like a Pro"

Ive done it, I did OK. My 70 year old mate also did it. When you sit in an audience you wonder why the hell people aren't swinging arms and fists at a constant rate, when you are in the ring, you find out why.
The most tiring thing Ive ever done in my life. Except for the training for 3 months before hand. Ill never run up another stair in my life.

Good luck ;)

P.S.

Whatever you do, you need to set the mood, you want people to buzz as you enter. Songs with an energised intro .. Most songs from ACDC have a powerful intro. Like Back In Black (Iron Man used a lot of ACDC) or Highway to hell.

Then you have other crazy heart pumping tracks like TESTAMENT - More Than Meets The Eye.

At the end of the day, as its for charity, it doesn't need to reflect your personality, its to reflect the you that is a boxer, just for that day (its a little like playing dress ups lol)

A good intro can get an audience instantly rooting for you. You want to draw out pure adrenalin from the crowed. It encourages them to participate in the atmosphere and trust me on this, gets your own blood pumping.

happy hunting Helfire Harry

I wouldn't normally do this, but here is a pic of me the day I had my one and only and very last Box fight. I assure you, I do not look like this. It was a major transformation through training and a dramatic change in my mental psyche

The next day I was a pussy again lol

sinblaster-gameface.jpg
My point here is, its an opportunity to be what we aren't normally and prove to ourselves that we can do and be whatever we want to.

Key is to enjoy it and remember why you're doing it!

oh ... and yes, I kicked his arse

Was thinking:

Harry the Hatchet

:)

How aboout 'Harry the Hamster' and use 'Hamster Dance' as the entrance music. :D:D:D

If you haven't found a track yet, you can't go wrong with the Training Montage music from Rocky IV:

Interesting Suggestions :) think I am going to leave the Hamster this time I do not want to come across to intimidating..

Awesome montage though :thumb:

I bust a gut picking up a blank Cd from the floor if I drop it. Plus I smoke two packets of Drum Tobacco a week.

The video wasnt an option. Fight like a pro is a "pay to enroll/fight" event. I didnt pay extra for the privillage of bells and whistles, in fact I got nothing from the organizers. I did however get allot from the experience. In Australia, everything seems to have a hidden agenda, generally involving money.
They do donate to charity but the biggest of all the charities is themselves.

haha we get a pro coach so someone has paid him to punch me :p

I am feeling a lot better than when I started!! I never knew how fit you had to be for boxing... it has been an awesome experience so far, excited for my fight in May now.

At the moment I am getting a fair bit of time to train... Just moved house to have no internet, which is not good for being active on the forum :( but has meant I can focus on boxing! although hopefully my internet should be in the next few days so I can help more people out :)
