I would venture to guess the CTP build will be 7989. Most of us have that now. LOL
and if my information is correct, the CTP will only be distributed to Gold partners. Historically they do not leak. They will get it through normal distribution methods or as a handout at the end of the WPC event.

After PDC 2011 (now called Build) in September, we should see a well worked beta. It should turn out to be a public beta that users can submit feedback through their MS Connect accounts.

Seriously, I can't wait to get my hands on a beta build! Had so much fun using the official beta of 7... and to be honest, 7 is starting to annoy me, for one reason or the other, not to get into discussion about that.
