Hi. I run on windows 8. It is a great OS except for one thing that I need some help for. I can't find out where the battery life is anywhere! It isn't in the taskbar and it isn't in the Charms bar. It is really starting to annoy me now....
I have tried going into the notifications area and changing the behaviour of it but that doesn't work either. This is what shows up. Please help me!!!! BATTERY LIFE.PNG

No I don't think so
Sorry I'm not the most computer savvy person....
What is a battery driver?
It is software that communicates between the hardware (battery/charging hardware) and the OS. It is usually manufacturer specific.

What model of laptop are you using (HP 6560b for example)? you can usually find the model name/number around the bezel of the monitor screen or on a label on the bottom of the laptop. I've seen some that put the model label info underneath the battery.

Are there some numbers after the TS such as 13sb or 44hr?

Here is the driver download section for Packard Bell. You can check here, but I'm not seeing a driver for this unless it is a part of the chipset driver or mgmtengine driver. I think maybe there is a setting that needs to be changed or a another application that might have taken control of the battery life and displays it elsewhere. I'll take a look for this and get back to you.

Oops, forgot this.

Here ya go. Get into the Control Panel > Notification Area Icons > Click on "Turn system icons on or off"
Turn on the power icon and you should be good to go. This pic shows the power icon screen.
(control panel can be found in the metro tiles screen, Right Click in an open area and then left click on the All Apps circle in the lower right corner.)

My guess then would be that Packard Bell has an app installed that is overriding the battery icon setting. See if there are any apps from Packard Bell installed that have something to do with management of the laptop.

There is the Packard Bell Launch Manager application. It might have battery settings.
