I be a poor boy, not much extra cash. I suppose this question has been asked a million times. Well, here's the 1 million +1 asking. :p Can't use the search function, tried, doesn't work. Posted about that on another thread. I'm looking for one that is freeware, without a nag popup. I suffer occasional brainfarts. That make me go ml4OLNG.gif at times. Not a pretty sight. c040.gif

Something that is reasonably easier to use. Hate the steep learning curve programs. Backups will be made to a 128GB flash drive.

Suggestions greatly appreciated
TIA

I just used Macrium Reflect Free to transfer Windows 8.1 from a HDD to a new SSD using image backups and can confirm it was very easy to use. I now plan to use Macrium Reflect instead of Paragon Backup I was using.

Macrium is a great freeware and I have used it and it worked flawlessly. Don't forget to create the WinPE disk/iso.

There are lots of freeware programs that work.

Acronis True Image WD Edition Software
WD Support

Acronis True Image Seagate Edition Software (DiscWizard)

Also there are promotions that are slated year round. You might wanna check these out:

The Acronis software I used installed low level drivers which were not removed when the Acronis software was uninstalled. They were a real pain to remove - see Safe Removal of Acronis True Image Drivers

I've used Paragon Backup but now prefer Macrium Reflect.

Thanks all. I installed Macrium. It's doing the job. Now when I reboot I get asked what I want to boot with, Windows or Macirum. Have another question. Will this work the same if I decide to use an external drive instead of the flash drive? I'm looking at buying a 4TB drive and then using my 1.5TB drive for backups. TIA
