Autoplay Not Working with 8.1

For the past few months I've noticed that Autoplay does not come up, on my PC anymore, when I insert a CD or any flash drive. I have had Windows 8 since April 2013 and I upgraded to 8.1 a few months ago.

I have looked all over Google for help and answers but nothing seems to be working. I recently bought a new anti-virus software and I can't install it without Autoplay popping up. It won't allow me to do it from rick-clicking in My Computer.

Is there any way to solve this problem or will I be stuck with this problem forever?

I tried that many times already and it hasn't worked

ok,did you open a elevated command prompt and run SFC /SCANNOW to see it will fix the issue .

if you run sfc and it says it found errors but could not fix them ,then run dism to fix issues and after that run sfc again .see dism info in link .

Tried both things and restarted and it still is not working. Just inserted the CD and AutoPlay did not pop up

don't know what else to tell you on how to fix it . but you should be able to get to the install file by going to file explorer ,right click on the dvd drive icon and select ,open auto play and in the top right corner it will give you options ,like run .exe ,open to view files,ect ect . this it what it does for me ,if its not doing this for you then ,I would assume the dvd drive isn't working correctly
