Are people really excited for Windows 8.1? I got Windows 8.1 since the beginning of October from my university for free. It's the same thing as Windows 8 with the exception of a start button. I don't see anything exciting about it but well whatever floats your boat.

Okay I admit the boot speed is very impressive on an HDD disk (5-8 seconds). But other than that nothing else seems exciting.

Nup .... I did not need the "FAKE" start buton .."ClassicShell works fine" ...but being able to disable the things that I don't like on the TILES ... :=}

Do you sign into your PC with the Microsoft account? The code is for trusted PC?

If that's the "Trust this PC" prompt you can skip it, I do believe there is a, "I can't do this now" or something like that option. I skipped it and did it latter on when I had my e-mail setup and working. The action center will remind you to do it.

Try this

Can't read that it's in Italian. Run windows update. It needs an update for the store.

Lol! I chatted with the store for a link to the ISO. The person answered that it will be available via the Store on the 19th. I'm not in a good mood because of no ISO, so I answered it's in the store already > Try and keep up. Thanked her for her time and closed out.

ive just check out that after download started ive only 5gb free on my c drive, hope its enough, i assume if it would been notenough it would had warn me

Updates

Hi just updated to 8.1 without a problem and it was quick. Checked the drive afterwards and it is showing windows old folder. Disk clean up is showing 4.5 gig of win 8 can be cleaned.

Then checked win update and there are 5 updates to download. Bing as an optional one and one is the browser choice update.

Well the update is still going...it's been over 2 hours. Now saying applying settings 3%.

Wish it would hurry up...I have a bus to catch in an hour and won't be back until Monday evening lol
