Well the reason I'm saying this is that the correlation seems fairly significant. For example:



Each grouping of spikes there is a browser refresh which utilises internet. Now I'm not saying its the modem or router, at least I don't think so, but rather but drivers associated with internet use. When the browser/internet is inactive there are very few/no other spikes, rest is yellow. (Reason for yellow not green is an inconsistency with windows 8 and the monitoring software)

Again this is something i am not familiar with at all, although this program you showed is more designed for Windows 7 and under.

If you feel you have a problem with high latency. Since you have Windows 8 and not 7. See there is differences in it's latency.

First 2 drivers on that list you posted are network related and you say they get high CPU usage at times, probably when using Mozilla or Chrome. Again could check with provider if you feel there is an issue. Also check network adapter driver, which i believe you might of said you updated.

Seems you are learning about this. Also asking you to disable and renable every driver till you come across the one in question.
At first i was talking about drivers being up to date.

It's obvious something is causing your issue,whether it be another device conflicting, missing or corrupt files, hardware itself issue and driver conflicts. Could also be something interfering with it, through the modem or electric, even PSU.

Wish there was a way i can actually hear what you are hearing, latency says audio dropouts. Do you feel this is what it is, dropping out, you say stutter?

I have tried that solution of the bcedit tick command, no difference unfortunately.

Audio I think is just a symptom of the underlying issue, which seems to be network related so I think I might head over to one of the network sub-forums.

Thank-you very much for your help though. Its lead me to a lot of possible solutions, and helped me at the least clean up my system thoroughly.

Your welcome Russ, i still feel i want to help more, but certain knowledge i have and certain knowledge i do not have limits me on some issues, but i did learn enough over the years to help ones in need here.

Just never came across audio issues due to a Network problem. Start with that source and work your way through some others. Please get back to us and let us know any solutions and if you require more help.

I understand it's strange to see networks causing such issues. But the huge correlation between refreshing a page and instant audio crackling/glitches is too much to ignore, combined with the LatencyMon logs and the fact that disabling the network adapter gets rid of the issue. It's either a provider issue (sincerely doubt) or a network DRIVER issue. Certain drivers laying relatively dormant, taking few resources to run efficiently, then at some point hitting a literal breaking point and guzzling resources likes there's no tomorrow. Resulting in latency + audio/lag problems.

It's certainly a network driver issue, or something that is effecting said drivers. Unfortunately for me, and others, is that this seems to be a hugely widespread problem. With no solution.

Regardless, should I find a solution I'll report back here post haste, and to the other billion threads I've started all over the internet (getting suggestions from anywhere I can!), so that others in the future may benefit.

Yes from research it does seem like a common problem, but with some different instances then yours, but very close to it.

Did you ever try to reset your modem (router) ? Usually done by typing an address in your browser, should be able get instructions from your network providers website. Something in settings of the modem could have changed this will just bring it back to default settings, Windows 8 will optimize it for you. I would still question them, don't doubt that they may be able to help, you do pay them for service, worth a try, tried a lot already.

You did update your network adapter ? What one is it, intel, realtek,etc... ?

You have a AMD Video card is there any settings for HD Audio ?Realtek and AMD HD audio from the graphics card could be conflicting with each other.

Asked once before if you had a monitor using HDMI or Display port, in sound settings you would also see this, because i had an issue like this and had to disable HD Audio through the HDMI from a graphics card settings, just a thought.

Network adapter driver update here is the newest for you Realtek

Can go to in run command, type MSINFO 32 go to components open network, then adapter to get the service name to make sure of the correct driver, but i seen it on ASUS's site as RT8111.

One of your post i saw AMD hidef audio showing and ready in sound settings. Trying to look back but did not see,are you using WiFi or ethernet cable straight to the modem to get on the internet ?

A lot says conflicting or outdated drivers as issues.

Reset router. No settings for HD audio in AMDs control center, it shows up in sound and device manager but its not enabled as the active sound system. Updated network adapter (not sure if I had, done so much updating). Connected via ethernet. Oh and connected through HDMI yes.

O.k. so you were able to reset it through the routers settings within a browser. I had an issue with sound once in my NVIDIA control panel it was under HD audio i had to disable it there and could also do it in sound settings even though it does not show active, right click it and select disable. Yes because of HDMI and display port are able to carry audio also it caused a disturbance for me. As long as your not using it for audio in anyway.

Just making sure how yours was set, because i saw this as a possible cure for your issue too.
Were you always connected through ethernet since this happened or was it on WiFi,this is just another check to make for your issue?.
