i just bought some new headphones that are USB to replace my old one that was also USB and i am having the same problem where they will not play audio. i looked in the playback and they are checked under
Default Communica
tion
but when i try to change it to default device it dose nothing. also it says no audio device installed under mixer but it is installed.(update) the problem is i have the headphones and I cant get sound from them. everything i check says there ready to use but because its on Default Communication and my speakers are on default device it wont let me use them and i cant change them to default device

Is default communications device correct? Seems they should be detected as headphones.
What is listed in the Device Manager, Sound, Video and Game Controllers section? Is the headphones listed there?"
its listed under both audio input and output and
Sound, Video and Game Controllers section

Not related to your USB Headset issue, I see you only have the generic, basic function, "High Definition Audio" drivers installed. You should install the correct sound drivers for your sound hardware chip for full functionality (e.g. if you have the Realtek audio chip install the Realtek drivers, if you have Conexant, the same way, etc).

Also, please fill in the "My System Specs". Helps us to try and help you.
