Hello, so I installed Win 8 beta 64bit build 8102 on a Dell Inspiron E1505 w/ Intel Core 2 Duo T7200 @ 2Ghz i945PM chipset and ATI x1400 and 2g RAM. I'm having a helluva time trying to install the ati drivers. I've tried compatibility mode with both vista32 and XP drivers. I've tried the latest mobility drivers from ATI and went so far as using the mobility modder software and it still doesn't install the drivers proper. I could sure use some other suggestions.

Hi
I just checked the drivers for you 1505 on the Dell web downloads
the only drivers Dell has is 32 bit drivers Vista and XP they can not be used for a 64 bit OS !
You should download the 32 bit version of win 8 ,then you can install the drivers you need .
Good Luck

Thanks I already tried that. Unfortanately there are not any 64bit drivers I can use. Since it's only a beta I can live with it. Not a big deal.

Man, I'm finding that legacy support for my Dell E1505 is getting less and less. Between Win8 64bit and even Linux I'm having legacy hw issues. With Win8 it's the graphics driver. With Linux 13 Cinnamon it was both Wifi and LAN. Which was odd since the LAN worked on Linux Mint 11. I ended up using my ASUS USB WIFI just to get network access.
