These drivers are awesome in Windows 8!
Agreed. Everything here is very solid with this version, but then again, all the 12.x I've installed since I installed Windows 8 have been very good. No complaints ever from me, yet.

Glad you are putting it to good use. :)

The correct driver is the one you want to have installed.

If you don't want to be nagged by Windows Update, then right click on the driver it is offering you and hide it. You'll never see it again until you undo it or completely reset Windows Update settings with special methods.

I have tried to install these on windows 8 CP But the actual driver is never installed, only the Windows 8 Preview amd driver works.

Problem i have is that crossfire makes games crash upon loading with the windows 8 preview driver -.-

Anyone know of a fix?

There is no reason whatsoever why it wouldn't install normally, but you could just point the device manager to the .inf. Read this post for how:

http://www.eightforums.com/crashes-debugging/6072-consistent-freezing-when-accessing-start-menu.html#post88075

The crashes aren't necessarily from the video driver. Let me know if you need other help to sort it.

Ok
I managed to get a driver installed useing the method above, BUT i cannt get CCC install no matter what i do.

It gets stuck installing at the part where its doing Installable packages, and then just vanishes :/

i like windows 8, i dont want to have to go back to windows 7 just to play BF3 :/

Not sure why you need CCC to play BF3 at all. All the options should be in the game menu itself.

Other than that, you could use Driver Sweeper in safe mode then install again.

I need it because by default crossfire is off, and some CCC settings are incorrect, AMD has a knack of lowering settings by default and CCC is required to raise them.

Just not sure why the 12.4 drivers just dont install correctly :/

Yeah, I dunno - it installed fine here on my AGP card even, after editing the .inf.

Probably has something to do with a previous version of CCC you had installed and my previous post will fix it up.

Neither.

Download latest Driver Sweeper. Reboot to safe mode. Use it to clear ATI/AMD video. Reboot and install the driver normally.

If you have issues: Then use device manager if you have an issue then install CCC after.

But unfortunatly Any game will not run with crossfire enabled.

Se i think its back to windows 7 for me haha
Like I said, probably not even a video card or driver problem.

You can attach msinfo32 after saving and zipping if you want.

Well Catalyst 12.4 quit working in BF3. Got the BF3 has stop working popup again. 12.3 is the only driver that is stable for me right now. The game is not nearly as smooth with the 12.3 though...
