I honestly thought it was going to explode. My laptop just started making a very loud screeching noise from what i believe is coming from the fan while i was playing super dancer online so i shut it off on the spot mainly because it terrified everyone in the room. Is there a way to fix this without money getting involved?and by money i mean techs....the techs down here are just too expensive. What has caused this firstly?right now im on a friend's laptop.

Nope. Because of the way that the cases are manufactured. You would need the correct tools to split the shells, then you would have to make sure you have the correct replacement fan, if that is what is actually making the noise.

I would find a local mom & pop computer repair, that has been around for a while and take it there.

Since you never stated the mfg & model number in your post or System Spec's, there is no way to tell you what you would have to go through if you wanted to do it on your own.

Buy a can of compressed air and try blowing it in the vents, especially where the fan is. Maybe dirt/dust got in and is causing the problem.

Who is the manufacturer and what is the full/complete model number. series k55a is not enough information.
