Hello,
I have an Asus laptop that has recently been migrated from Windows 8.0 to Windows 8.1. I had few issues with Windows 8, after I got used to how it functions. Now, it usually takes 8-10 boot tries to make it through all the freezing issues before I get a successful boot. It rarely stops at the same place in the boot cycle. I have tried to use the Windows troubleshooter, selecting the restart issues, but it did not find any issues needing to be resolved. I have updated the drivers using driverscan, and it did update 31 drivers, but did not effect any changes to the freezing/lockups. I have configured the PC to create a complete dump upon lockups, but have not restarted the PC after the change since it takes so many tries to get to a workable configuration. I am attaching the SFdebug file as an attachment to this post. Any help solving this issue is greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Your BIOS dates from 2009. Please check at the manufacturer's website to see if there are any BIOS updates available for your system. Also check the readme file to see if they apply to the problems that you are having. Please be advised that flashing the BIOS is a very unforgiving process - and one mistake can physically damage your motherboard.

Also, please understand that a BIOS this old probably isn't very compatible with Win8 or 8.1. There are things we can do to make it more reliable - but there may come a point where you just have to accept that it's not going to work right. It may be advisable to downgrade to Win7 or earlier in order to completely eliminate the problems.

I scanned through the reports and haven't found anything significant.
Let's try this report:
Please do the following:
- open Event Viewer (run eventvwr.msc from the "Run" dialog))
- expand the Custom Views category (left click on the > next to the words "Custom Views")
- right click on Administrative Events
- select "Save all Events in Custom View as..."
- save the file as Admin.evtx
- zip up the file (right click on it, select "Send to", select "Compressed (zipped) folder")
- upload it with your next post (if it's too big, then upload it to a free file-hosting service and post a link here).

Thanks for the response. Based on your advice, I went to the ASUS support site and downloaded/flashed the latest bios for my computer. It was dated 2010, which was old, but not as old as the existing bios. It seems to have stopped all the issues of the pc freezing up upon restart. I worked all afternoon with it yesterday without a single freezup. So thanks! Your support was invaluable, and it turned my boat anchor pc into something useable again. Have a great day!
