I have been experiencing intermittent BSOD when it wakes from sleep on my Zenbook running Win 8.

Have not been able to determine the cause and was hoping the smart guys here would be able to point me in the right direction or at least give me an idea of how to study the memory dumps so I can figure it out.

Load the minidumps in windows debugger (windows debugging tools)

It seems you have a problem with your disk or memory.

If you can, replace the hdd (i.e. rip one from an external usb enclosure)

I have an Asus b121 slate that does something similar. I get the Your computer recovered from an error and get the Send or Don't send option when it comes back up....I don't actually see the blue screen though. This seems to only happen when it comes out of a hibernate....a regular sleep seems fine.

I also have intermittent BSOD if and only i the Zenbook UX31 wakes from sleep. It's sleep, not hibernate. The interesting thing is that I'm not running W8 but W7 64 bits.
From the BSOD there are different conditions detected (at least three different reasons).
Sometimes I got BSOD right when the lid is open, sometimes I can login, the the computer seems to freez response for about 30 seconds, and after that BSOD.....it's really weird...

Please let me know if you find something.

I disabled Sleep in Win8 and only allow the machine to hibernate. Wake from Hibernate is pretty quick in Win8 so its not too inconvenient.

By no means a solution, just a workaround...
