Are We Dying????

It is inevitable that forums will reduce in members as time goes by. I wonder how many people are still active members of an XP forum, for example. I am now on Win 10 in both my pc and my laptop, and it is obviously going to take up a fair bit of time to customise and make sure all software is running correctly. I am still 'here' but have been busy. I still have win 8.1 on my older laptop which I gave to the grandsons when they visit. I will try and 10anlize that one soon as I can. Glad I changed, yes I am. Its good.

i upgraded to 10. not sure if i like it tho

Time will tell, as with anything takes time to know if works for you or not.

true but it has already automatically deleted two programs apon installation. That kind of got me a little angry as i was told it wouldn't do that. I was also told upgrading would not change my settings, it did. I couldn't find the screensaver settings.. still lookingfor them, And also i have turned off the notifications for "firewall" 15 times now

I haven't been here much since moving to Windows 10 and I'll be spending most of my time at tenforums.com. I just wanted you guys to know that it wasn't that I'm mad or upset with anyone or anything like that. You guys are great and I hope to see you all on the tenforums!

Well, I'm not happy with the push towards cloud and the automatic updates. Have capped data on satellite. May end up dying with 8.1, sure not ready to make the switch to 10 very soon.

I just thought of something(probably because I've only slept for 3 hours) I wouldn't say Eight Forums is dying out, but I have noticed the social interaction aspect has sure decreased, it's mostly just problems that are posted(other than the "games" in the chillout room).

Don't forget - Even if you have no intention of moving to Windows Ten at the moment or even Ever, everyone is welcome at TenForums

If you do join and use your same user name as here we'll do our best to give you the VIP access you've earned here, (if you end up with a different name, a quick post in the Welcome Thread, should sort things out.)

We have no intention of ignoring or winding down, either our 8/8.1 users or EightForums itself, but a fall off of activity is to be expected with all the attention Windows 10 is getting presently

Man, the social aspect of Eight Forums has become almost nonexistent:(
I come here and have this song in my head:

progress is inevitable, but there are many out there who are happy to remain as they are. I love win 10, so I too am happy!!
Yup, but when I look in on 7 forums, it's alive and kickin'. Then I come here it's like a ghost town in the old TV western, with sagebrush blowing through the streets.(I mean the social aspect, not the help)
:(Is this what's left of Eight Forums?

There were many pc owners who did not want to do the jump to 8, but will inevitably have to climb the mountain as win 7 support dissolves. The jump from 7 to 10 is probably the best way to go. I did it 7, 8. 8.1 - 10, and although the unknown became the known with the help of the Brinks etc in here, and now in 10. Go for it, learn and explore. The only thing I have yet to explore is Edge. ( I think).

Out of all the forums - Vista, Seven, Eight, Ten, Seven was the most active. I never felt Eight had the activity Seven once had. Seven was just lively place. Anyway as noted progress moves on so as one OS dies away 7, 8) so does the activity around it. Being a 10 user myself now, I don't have much to say or do with 8 anymore.

A lot of fixes are the same(I still use them on Win 10 too) so I look in once in a while to see where I can help. Most problems are BSOD though, which is out of my league, and axe0 is doing a good job there;).
For me, I don't post so much here as I used to, because I would run into the danger of double posting, and just posting a few words, then linking to 10 Forums seems pretty dumb(on the social side I mean). But I do PM the some here just to see how they're doing.

If a windows forum is relatively quiet surely this should be looked at a different way - IT WORKS!! Initially every such forum is busy, then it begins to tail off as people become more knowledgeable. I have a 10 problem now, which I am going to ask about in the relelevant forum.

Too bad those that choose to stay on 8, don't write something here and associate with each other like we do in 10 Forums.
