The Apps screen in Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1 is the new version of Start Menu -> All Programs that was in Windows 7 and Vista. The Apps screen displays a list of all of your installed Store apps and desktop programs that can be sorted how you like.
This tutorial will show you how to have listed apps sorted by name, date installed, most used, or category on your Start screen in Apps view in Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1.

1. Open your Start screen to the Apps view.
2. Click/tap on the drop down menu arrow to the right of Apps at the top left corner, then select how you would like to sort your installed apps by.
NOTE: Apps are sorted by name by default.
Tip
If you are sorting by category, then your could have desktop apps or Store apps listed first in Apps view.
