How to Pin or Unpin Apps in Windows 8 "Search" Charm

By default, Windows 8 will list apps that work with search to allow you to search within the app in the "Seach" charm.
This will show you how to pin or unpin apps to be at the top of the list or not in the "Search" charm in Windows 8. If pinned, it will make selecting the app in the "Search" charm easier since it's at the top of the list of apps.

Note
This feature does not apply to Windows 8.1 and Windows RT 8.1.
EXAMPLE: Pinned App in "Search" Charm
OPTION ONE
To Pin or Unpin Apps in "Search" Charm
1. Do either step 2, 3 or 4 below for how you would like to open Search.
2. If you are on the Start screen and have a keyboard connected, then you could just start typing anything, and go to step 5 below.
NOTE: You could press the :winkey: key to go to the Start screen.
3. Press the :winkey: + Q keys and release, and go to step 5 below.
4. Open the Charms bar, and click on the Search charm.
5. To Pin a App to the Top in "Search" Charm
A) Right click on app that you would like to have pinned to the top of the apps list in the "Search" charm, and click on Pin. (see screenshot below)
B) The app will now be pinned to the top of the list with the icon to the right of it to indicate it has been pinned. (see screenshot below)
6. To Unpin an App in "Search" Charm
A) Right click on a pinned app that you would like to unpin in the "Search" charm, and click on Unpin. (see screenshot below)
B) The app will now be unpinned. (see screenshot below step 5A)
7. When finished, you could press the :winkey: key to return to the Start screen.
OPTION TWO
To Show Apps Searched Most Often at Top in "Search" Charm
NOTE: This option will not pin or unpin a app in the "Search" Charm like in OPTION ONE. Instead it will let you turn on or off the option to show the apps that you search most often within at the top of the apps list in the "Search" charm.
1. Open PC settings, and click/tap on Search in the left pane. (see screenshot below step 4)
2. To Turn On Show Apps Search Most Often at Top in "Search" Charm
A) In the right pane under Show the apps I search most often at the top, move the slider for a app to the right to turn it on.
3. To Turn Off (hide) a App in "Search" Charm
A) In the right pane under Show the apps I search most often at the top, move the slider for a app to the left to turn it off.
4. When finished, you could press the :winkey: key to return to the Start screen.
